Yo hi there, working on OT2

Postby Bia10 » Sat May 31, 2025 3:22 am

Il try to keep this brief:

Originally I was active on obsrv around 2022 met some cool people in modding community like Fothsid, Machi and many others.

Already at that time I was rly interested in the weird magical tool called OutbreakTracker. So at that time I decided to rewrite it in C#, recently I rediscovered that project on local git and tried to use it. I was so fcking disgusted by how abominable that did look like (.net framework 4.7.2 + WPF omg...) that I decided to entirely rewrite it from scratch. Finally after some weeks of coding and hours of debugging llm output a pre-release version appears to be ready for testing.

My main aim with OT2 is to build up a easily readable/maintainable/extendable application.
Theoretically is intended to run anywhere PCSX2 2.0.0+ and .NET9 can run, though there will be some rough edges for now.

The application is a .NET9 "modular-monolith" build on top of Avalonia 11 -> SukiUI. The backend for the frontend is done by Reactive Paradigm(R3) it would especially cool to leverage all the insanely well crafted libraries from Cygames/Cysharp. https://github.com/Cysharp

The OT2 repo can be found here: https://github.com/Bia10/OutbreakTracker2
You can clone and build it yourself. Or if community wants I can throw a Pre-release on GitHub.

I don't lack ideas what we can do, I only hope ill have enough time and wits to do it. Btw nothing from the UI/UX side of things is set in stone.
So yeah hopefully more developers join in the fun, see ya around.
