Outbreak Server Resurrection

Hello,

I'm a long time fan of Outbreak. They were both day one purchases for me.

I'm new to this board and I'm trying to find a step by step guide to getting back online. Are there any YouTube videos that cover this subject?

I'm looking for the best ( and hopefully easiest) method.

I have a fat ps2 which I will clean the dust out. I already have the network adapter.

I'm somewhat technically savvy, but I don't know what ISO or HDD OSD EXPLOIT means.

I have seen on Amazon a memory card that contains Free McBoot. Will that be something I need? I don't mind investing a little more money in this to make things easier.

All I need is a good step by step guide and I should be able to figure it out.

Someone please point me in the right direction.

Hello and welcome. Since you have a console, I am assuming you are going the PS2 HDD route. Best way to play by the way. If you weren't using an HDD then you would need a japanese console to run the JPN games. That won't be necessary if you are installing a HDD though.

I also used some guides on sksapps for smaller issues so you might want to check that out as well.

Is this able to be set up with a mac computer or is it pc only?

No idea. I don't run it from a PC. I have a modded PS2 setup.

In the video he connected the ps2 HDD to his pc. I think he ripped the data from the japanese dvd and transferred it onto the HDD. I was curious if that step can be done on a mac

Also, where does the translation from Japanese to English come into play?

Google resouttrans. You can get the whole modpack which includes translation there. You will have to patch both isos with it before loading the games onto your HDD.
