If you have gotten to the login screen it's a good sign and it's usually a port / forwarding problem. I don't have any experience with the emulator but for consoles you might need to forward the following ports:

53 UDP
443 TCP
8200 TCP
8300 TCP
8590 TCP
8690 TCP

Or you could assign your PS2 with a static ip and place it in the DMZ, makes things much simpler.

I only meant it as a light-hearted joke because there was a very well-known player named "chaosdachamp" back on the NA servers who was constantly hanging out with a player named Pamela. To have forgotten her would be kind of funny, lol.
