Yay, super secret spy gadgets, it's the RE2 we all know and love. Remember when Ada used that lipstick launcher? Oh wait...

I can see me getting mad with that thing chasing me forever Image
This game will clearly hit a big success mark and they will most likely remake RE3 as well. I can only think about Nemesis chasing you through the entire city since there aren't even safe havens and load screens anymore. GOD

I thought this was kind of neat. RE2 will have its own version of the 'Mr Everywhere' collectible (from RE7). Only it'll be Mr. Raccoon the Zoo's mascot.

In the eurogamer 12 new things video, they confirmed that Sherry was taken to an orphanage by Irons. So perhaps we'll be able to see that little girl there.

The little girl's role has already been leaked in footage from the press event.

Guess I'll have to look harder for that info.

*Spoilers

The dead girl is Kendo's daughter. It's one of the events in the press demo that was NDA'd, but there have been a handful of leaks.

So if anyone's curious I have a review round-up after the embargo was lifted earlier today.

Metacritic -
91 (PS4)
93 (XONE)
88 (PC)

Eurogamer - Recommended
USgamer - 4.5/5
PC Gamer - 89/100
GamesBeat - 85/100
PCGamesN - 8/10
Polygon - Recommends
Game Informer - 9.5/10
IGN - 9/10
Guardian - 5/5
Gamespot - 9/10
Telegraph - 5/5
CGMagazine - 8.5/10
EGM - 9.5/10
Push Square - 8/10
Press Start - 10/10
Stevivor - 10/10
VideoGamer - 9/10
GamesRadar+ - 4/5
Easy Allies - 9/10
Famitsu - 37/40
Everyeye.it [Italian] - 9/10
Hobby Consolas [Spanish] - 92/100
Gameblog [French] - 8/10

Edit - IGN is redoing their review. In it, they criticized the game for being the exact same for both Leon and Claire and offering no replay value, however, it's because they didn't play the B scenarios, only the A scenarios :))

Second Edit - Try to avoid YouTube/Video reviews of the game. I've heard the majority of them spoiled a LOT of stuff in the game. I even watched one that everyone said didn't spoil anything we already know and that was not true. They gave some late game stuff away (gameplay/enemies/locations). I know it's a REmake of a game already 20 years old, but I'm just sending a warning out for people.

Third Edit - IGN redid the review and bumped it up from 8.8 to a 9.

To be fair, after having played Claire 1/Leon 2 and 2/3 done with Leon 1. The overall story and scenario is very samey. Even the 2nd run story has no continuity. You fight the same bosses and Annette dies either in front of Sherry or Leon. It's probably my one and only complaint in terms of replay value, but a 9/10 is definitely the score I'd give it so far. It's not as great as REmake, but it's great regardless. Worth the money and the wait imo.

Yeah I agree with everything here. I was also let down by how "same" all the campaigns were, but still a fun game nonetheless and had some genuinely amazing and scary moments. Also the game looks fucking beautiful , which I don't care much for graphics, but damn it looks good. I like how they paid homage to the original, but also made it feel like it's own distinct game. Also even though they made new tracks for the game instead of remaking the original, there were some really good ones, like the track that plays as you're descending to fight G3 is amazing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0SNgpTkHb8

And the final fight theme for Mr. X was definitely hype.

Even thou IGN is shit, they were right the first time it seams. As you guys said, everything is the same, a real let down. I expected it to be flawless which my first playthrough was btw, was impressed and gave it a solid 10. But after going through everything, bare 8.
The 4th survivor is really good, and HUNK is good as always thou. :D

Were the devs rushed by Crapcom or whatever happened, in any case this really is disappointing.

I did Claire A/Leon B. When I saw them meeting at the staircase gate, I was like "wow we're going through a different route at the same time! Gonna be awesome." Then it turns out you do pretty much the same things Image

Other than that the game is pretty great. The cutscenes are interesting now that they have real models acting. They're much more natural, as expected. It was nice seeing how they modernized things like the plant zombies and now I'm eager to see if the walls destroyed in 2F have anything to do with Nemesis.

Also, NO ZOMBIE BRAD. Just an "easter egg" poster of him exactly where his zombie was supposed to be.
