Outbreak Server Resurrection

Hello new user here
used to play this game on single player when it came out years back
its been a while
i had a question ive tried some matches and ive had the issue of getting stuck in the item menu whenever i pick up a item
is it lag? or maybe my controller setup?

I normally just hit a few random buttons till it stop stuck picking up item and then I just re-pick it back up. Possible due to lags. IDK

I am new as well iv been looking for other new people to play with cause playing with the long time pros is no fun they do everything and
