It's basically an hybrid between Operation Raccoon City and The Experiment mode from Umbrella Corps, but they replaced Umbrella Soldiers with civilians to not make it too obvious.
OB already has a few scenarios like this:
Decisions Decisions. Greg is the game master.
EoR Linda & Carter are the passive aggressive game masters. Locking us up making us look for keycards they already have.

And come on, how "silly" is the Outbreak Scenario?
You have to climb up, jump on the roof and go out another building before the timer ends... only to end up EXACTLY outside J's Bar's wide Open door!!! Which is "too dangerous" to cross from inside the bar. Look up what the door next to the 2nd Police Barricade you need to push. So all this time Raymond is waiting right outside the "too dangerous" door with a loaded shotgun.
 ;)

That's not a fair comparison, nobody can control Greg/Linda/Carter and their presence is really irrelevant for most of the scenario. Also, there's no magical internet connection that gives you the power to spawn enemies out of thin air and control them.

But that makes it more exciting. We won't be able to learn the mazes & objectives by repetition. It will always be new levels.

While that may make things more "exciting" it's not something that everyone will enjoy especially since the Mastermind is pretty much able to spam up enemies and traps out of thin air directly in front of you which can easily lead to abuse. The game fells more like an arcade game with those active abilities and such which is unlike Outbreak which was more grounded in realism as a scenario driven game.

No, there are limits & the Dungeon Master only has a few resources to chose from. It's gonna b constantly fresh AF. They should retitle it "Outbreak Refresh AF".

FFS just let Herb have this won't you? At least one of us is optimistic in regards to this outcome. I'm still not gonna buy it at least until I get to play a open beta or something because it could be fun for what it is. Will this scratch that 15 year old itch though? I really can't see it happening. But hey! Apparently the producer of Project Resistance apologized to outbreak fans during their live stream yesterday. So there's that.

If you've ever played games that this new Resident Evil project is mimicking, you'll notice the repetition so very quickly; especially if the enemies (other than a dead character player clawing at you) are controlled by another person...

I'm just not into pvp anymore, especially in a Resident Evil game, the Umbrella Corps/ORC/PR formula does not work, instead hey should focus on a RE game that plays like RE7 or RE2 Remake but coop. How hard is that?.

And come on, how "silly" is the Outbreak Scenario?
I don't mind if there's a few silly situations in certain parts of a game. But what I find silly in Project Resistance is the whole game concept and structure. Even a flawed game like ORC had a much more intriguing and less hilarious premise.

There's plenty of repetition in multiplayer games. Someone finds out the most OP perks, strategies, and exploits, then others start copying and abusing those same tricks to death, while a lot of stuff gets ignored for not being effective. And we don't know how much scenarios the game has, but so far it looks like they're fixed, not randomly generated maps. The objectives to clear a Floor may be randomized but are also pretty generic: like find 3 devices, find 3 pieces of statue, destroy 3 bio-cores, etc.
