New Chatbox

Dear forum members,

thanks to our member Alinho the shoutbox is back in a new and improved manner. Here are the features
- Main lobby chat for everyone
- private chatrooms for everyone
- whisper messages (appear in red)
- individual settings for pictures and YT videos

What's missing?
- chat archive, you see the last 10 messages on login
- hiding from the chat when you log in as a hidden user
- colors for moderators and admins
- locking out the bots
- integration of the ingame chatrooms (that's my part ;) )

Please use this thread if you happen to see error messages or experience other oddities that need to be fixed.

Top right corner of it, there is a button to press for options. Can disable sound or images.

Great work Alinho, love it!

- hiding from the chat when you log in as a hidden user
How do you even do that?

Maybe a function to not load in the Shoutbox when you're logged in as a hidden user would do wonders for this. After all, someone with a hidden login session doesn't need to be interested in what's going on in public chat : P Likewise, an option to disable the Shoutbox at all for those who aren't interested if it doesn't already exist. I think that'd be much easier forum-wise if it can be implemented.

EDIT: A function to be able to type in another message without having to click on the white bar again (and a function to type in messages in the right place after clicking a BB code button) would go miles to help this new Shoutbox. I'm finding that a bit troublesome. It could be just me, though, I have no idea if it works the same for everyone.

One step after the other :D

I moved the chatbox to a single page. It's just more handy on mobiles.
You can reach the chat by clicking on the icon next to the wiki icon.

Alinho implemented the archive function for the main lobby. No more asking "what did I miss" :)

Thanks for the hard work everyone. I really appreciate it. And thanks for finally making the wiki fast too access, I was too lazy to bookmark it. Thought I've finally memorized Alyssa's not so complex lock pick sequences.

*sigh* This is something I was worried about when the chatbox moved. I figured some people, especially new people, will either not know where to find it or even know that it exists. Personally, I think it would be better to have it on the front page again, maybe with a link to also access it on it's own page or something for mobiles. I dunno, it's just a thought.

Here's the link: new_sb.php

It's not so easy for everyone to find. For example, I have to press on the icon in the top left in order to get a dropdown list that shows it. Not everyone would know there is a chatbox, yet alone pressing this icon for any reason.

Here's what I'm talking about:

Of course people, including myself, know where to find it. But I'm trying to think of the average forum user. Half the people here don't even seem to read the news posts, I lost count of how many times I had to give out the new server address.
