Re: Plans to go open source

Hey Isles487, thanks for the info I really appreciate it 8) I was able to install php7.3-fpm. My new issue is after restarting Apache and checking the DNAS Server instead of getting the " 41 " in the check, I get: failed: Name or service not known. unable to resolve host address 'gate1.jp.dnas.play...

Re: Plans to go open source

Hey guys! I dusted off an old Acer Aspire Revo 1600 and installed Debian 10 to see if I could get the server running. So far so good, but I did hit a snag with INSTALLING AND SETTING UP DNAS The PDF reads: DNAS emulation is currently done by a few PHP scripts. The lite version of Raspbian stretch d...

Re: In Memoriam: Shoutbox

Not for too long though! Great to hear! Manual login every time using controller and virtual keyboard is a real pain lol. Having to frequently re-login to view he server status screen is getting extremely annoying too...i presume that is a server issue at the moment? Thanks for all your great work ...

Re: Lag reporting thread

There is a general consistency when people have stable setups, I rarely notice anything that would be blamed server side, although I imagine it would be the case for some people. Definitely unlike retail, where connections were majorly a factor because everyone played on similar hardware up until s...

Re: Lag reporting thread

It hasn't changed overall. Some RMs are plain bad (internet quality, emulators), some RMs are "great" despite OB's not-so-good netcode. Example of good, despite being the DT siege, the naturally laggiest situation in Outbreak: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/574941857?t=0h24m00s - If you've played DT ...

Re: In Memoriam: Shoutbox

That would be sick. Which makes one wonder - what's stopping 'em from just making a new one lol? xD
Not to spoil anything, but... nothing ;)
Oh shit, son!

Lag reporting thread

Report your experience here. Let us know if you are experiencing issues with higher than average lag, if your experience has been relatively normal or better, or anything that might be helpful in that regard. I just want to take a survey of how things are going. In your report, please let me know ho...

Re: Official Discord Server

A lot of people, specially our vast younger audience, wouldn't know how to use IRC, myself included. Would this be a good idea after making everyone move to Discord? Also, have you guys found a way to implement iframe widgets here yet? Last I tested, phpbb doesn't exactly accept it, so this issue a...

Re: Official Discord Server

I'm thinking a nice implementation could look like the old shoutbox but simply connect to an IRC server on our side. Users looking to connect from an external client would use their obsrv credentials.

AliTheZombie, what do you think?

Re: Official Discord Server

Why not integrate irc chat into the website? https://kiwiirc.com/ Discord is proprietary and spyware (https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/discord.html) I can not even use Discord. I am using VPN and it is asking for phone numbers for authentication. RIP I'm going to be honest, I do like the idea...

Re: Plans to go open source

My issue is I can't figure out how to get dnsmasqn to work on the internet. Anytime I try nslookup www01.kddi-mmbb.jp [my public Ip address] from outside my network all I get is "DNS request timed out." Edit: Apparently incoming port 53 is blocked by my ISP. Pretty common - which is part of the rea...

Re: Plans to go open source

It was the server's private IP address, but even when I changed it to my public IP address, nslookup on my laptop connected to the 4G network keeps failing. Edit: Did you mean the game's DNS address setting? Also do I have to change all my IP addresses in the obcomsrv, dnsmaqs config, and both outb...
